Summary: pretty tame
Comment: i expected more to be honest.what he says could be said in two paragraphs not three hundred pages.the guy seemed more interested in being academically correct rather than risking the truth.didn't even mention the arc of the covenant underneath the pyramid or possibly behind the copper handled door and he actually believes the egyptians built the pyramids and aligned them with the stars of orion's belt within a 99.9 degree of accuracy and with a piece of wood no less with a split in the end. come on now. i know some extra terrestrials/dimensionals who would beg to differ.

Summary: Orion Mystery
Comment: Wow. This book is very well written and had me enticed from start to finish. The author remains quite scientific but uses lay-terminology to describe his theory which is now the prevailing theory on the Egyptian pyramids. For once, reading this books does not throw up more questions than answers although, you are compelled to try to find out what's behind 'that door' in the tunnel. Google helps to that end!!! (but there is still something more to this story - I'll not spoil your fun researching it!!!)

Summary: A door into the past and the secrets of the Great Pyramid?
Comment: On March 22, 1993 Rudolf Gatenbrink used a remote controlled robot to explore the shafts originating in the Queens's chamber of the Great Pyramid. The robot's camera showed an image of what may be a 'stone slab door with copper handles' and speculation was the order of the day. With this backdrop in mind Robert Bauval and Adrian Gilbert have produced a thought provoking book that captured the imagination of anyone who has an interest in the Great Pyramid at Giza. When the book hit the shops in 1994 it was complemented by TV coverage explaining some of the theories put forward. A key aspect is a connection of the pyramids with the night sky and in particular the sky as it was several thousand years ago.The media interest was further boosted by Robert Bauval advertising in the press for items found in the Great Pyramid, brought to Britain, but lost. "The Orion Mystery" was reviewed in the Sunday Telegraph on 1st January 1995 complete with a photograph of a 'mysterious stone slab with copper handles'. I cannot help but feel the media interest in this book created conflicting messages at the time. I decided to take the plunge and find out what the excitement was about and was pleasently surprised. The duo have put together a well constructed piece of work but you must take your own view on the evidence presented. What the authors interpret may have been in the minds of the architect(s) is explained but is it sound in light of all the evidence available in the public domain? I can comment that if you read this book, your investigations, reasearch and reading will probably continue if only to disprove or further accept the ideas put forward by the authors.

Summary: A wonderfully accessible yet scholarly piece of work.
Comment: As an amateur Egyptologist it is easier to find a book full of technical jargon and unexplained statements than otherwise. This is a very readable and informative piece bringing new ideas into the public veiw rather than to a few elite initiates in the hierarchy of the study of Ancient Egypt. All ideas, motivations and even personal feelings are fully documented and are not just bland statements of fact but are interesting and compell one to delve deeper into the mystery of Egyptian religion. One cannot but marvel at the perseverance and determination of Bauval in the face of dead ends (excuse the pun!) and criticism. Excellent. P.S If you want to know what the pun was about then you will have to read it!

Summary: Captivating, thought provoking, thank you.
Comment: I cannot believe how our civilization seems to be plagued by negative self important views. I do not think that Robert Bauval has spent a huge portion of his own personal time or his families to arrive at a theory that is constantly compared to mythology. I do not believe he was motivated by money either, but as all great discoverers go, I hope he is able to enjoy more of the finer things in life because of his theory. I have to laugh at some of the reviewers who seems to be so critical of the author(s) - Hancock, West Bauval. I would therefore love to know their educational journey on the theories of Hancock, West and Bauval. Where do you think the ancient monuments came from, who put them there? We spend so much time and money on items that are eventually obsolete, why not more on our ancients and the mystery that they left for us. Did they feel that leaving their mystery(s)were factual or an educational tool? These monuments pre-dated Christianty, they did not have a human role model such as Jesus. They felt a huge need to worship the path beyond, there does not seem to be evidence of a similar human role model at that time, or it would be consistant on the monuments - NO?. They did have proven yearning of an afterlife? why? could that not be proof that there is indeed an afterlife/source? I personally feel so. Why not applaud these brilliant men and woman who have produced the material that obviously intriqued you in the first place, I wish I could do something to help, I do know I have nothing but respect and gratitude for these people and I thank them. I hope they continue the quest for the answers, I believe they are there. I wish you luck on your journey. I hope that you do find the answers in the time I am here on earth.
